The Losing Game

“The Losing Game”- Student Film by Columbia College Students (Film Inside)

Three Columbia College Chicago students, two of which graduated together in May of 2012, created a short film together titled “The Losing Game”. The writer and director of the film was Cameran Batley, creative producer was Jessica Estelle Huggins, and Candice Majors was the director of photography .  The student film stars local up and coming actors Shavar Clark, Anita Brown, and Tiffany Johnson.

The film deals with two girls at work going after the same guy.  In their attempt to out do each other, they wound up bringing nothing but more and more misery upon the guy, leading to him being snatched away by another worker in their office.  Producer, Jessica Estelle Huggins make a couple of cameo appearances, along with the staff of the Conaway Achievement Project (CAP) at Columbia, where the film was shot.

Cameran and Jessica wanted to send a special shout out to the CAP program for allowing them to film their project in their office, and for being in the film.  Check out the film, and let these former students know what you thought of “The Losing Game”.

Tank Performs At The Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago (Video & Photos Inside)

AWP had the opportunity to attend a private showcase at the Hard Rock Hotel in Chicago where singer Tank took the stage, and performed some of his top hits.  He was accompanied solely by a DJ and a piano, and serenaded the audience with his raw, natural voice.  He spoke about the inspiration behind his latest album, “This Is How I Feel”, and encouraged all his fans in the building to grab the album.  It was a very intimate showcase, and he definitely kept the ladies screaming for more.  Check out exclusive video footage from the performance below, as well as photos from the night.

Ashley Everett Goes Behind the Scenes of “Instagram” Music Video

Everbody’s favorite “Single Ladies” dancer, Ashley Everett, has officially launched her on YouTube Channel under DanceOn.  For those who may not know (and I don’t know why you wouldn’t know lol), Ashley is Beyonce’s right hand dancer.  She’s been her dance captain for the last few years, and has danced alongside the Queen Bey in countless videos, tours, and other live performances all over the world.  Fans are always asking Ashley what it’s like to dance for this person and that person, so she’s giving them just what they want by way of show and tell.

Everett’s page is dedicated to giving fans and viewers behind the scenes access on the sets of music videos she’s working in, as well as her day to day live.  In this exclusive video, she goes behind the scenes of the music video for Destorm’s song “Instagram”. Also featured in the video is one of Ashley’s best friends, who is extremely multi-talented himself, Todrick Hall of American Idol’s 10th season.  He’s also a huge YouTube sensation after his countless flash mobs and famous “I Wanna Be On Glee” video, which featured Ashley Everett.  Check out the video below :) .

He’s truly on my team and I am truly on his. God revealed my heart to him like nobody else.”

Good and Franklin were recently spotted at the wedding of Bad Girls Club star Natalie Nunn, and now have officially merged into one themselves. We wish them the best, and look forward to seeing them set a Godly example of marriage.

Yvette Wilson 1

BREAKING NEWS: “Moesha” Star Loses Her Fight With Cervical Cancer

Many will remember Andell Wilkerson from the “Moesha” show as well as “The Parkers”, both of which were housed on UPN.  Andell was played by actress Yvette Wilson, who was also in several films such as House Party 2 and Friday.  Wilson lost her fight with Cervical Cancer tonight.

Her former cast mate, Shar Jackson, has been requesting that her followers on Twitter pray for Wilson. However, her latest tweet made it clear that Wilson didn’t make it. Jackson’s final tweet stated:

I wanna thank all my tweeties for their prayers but god has chosen to take my sister Yvette home.. …”

Wilson is the 4th person from the cast to lose her life at a young age. She was only 48 years old, and had been at stage 4 of Cervical Cancer.  A friend of Wilson, Jeffrey Pittle, who was a survivor of stage 4 cancer, was raising money to help Wilson in her battle, but he was only able to raise 54% of the funds.

Wilson will definitely be remembered for her humorous roles, and her sunshine smile.  We definitely send up prayers to her family as well as the cast of “Moesha”
