The official trailer of Sparkle has been trending all day. The film stars Whitney Houston, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks, Ceelo Green, Omari Hardwick, Derek Luke, Tamela Mann, and Mike Epps. This film was slated to be Houston’s big comeback. Sparkle was produced by the the actress that originated the role of Sparkle, Debra Martin Chase as well as Pastor T.D. Jakes, and the screenplay is by Mara Brock Akil, who created Girlfriends and The Game. The film features new music from Sparks, Houston, and Green, and is scheduled to be released August 17, 2012.
