Ashley Seldon: Success Is In Your Dance

A World Tour with Beyonce (2009- 2011), tours with Usher and  performances with  Ne-yo, all by the age of 25. She is dancer/ choreographer, Ashley Seldon.

Born and raised in the Washington DC Metropolitan area, the humble Seldon landed her big break when she began performing alongside pop diva Beyonce; whom she still performs with to this day.

“Hard work and never giving up is what got me here,” said Seldon.  “Always trying to be over the top with everything that I do, doing my best at everything, and just giving it 100%.”

No stranger to hard work, Seldon made her way  to California in 2007. She didn’t know anybody she said, but it didn’t discourage her from pursuing her dreams.

She took every audition she could to gain exposure. In time, she appeared on television shows So You Think You Can Dance, Mad Tv, as well as numerous TV shows and music videos.

Her growth in confidence and fame allowed her to travel the world. However with being on the road a majority of the time, “A dancer has to live out of her suitcase,” said Seldon.

“When you’re on tour, you’re always on the go; no breaks,” she said. “However when you love what you do, it makes it all worth it.”

Gaining an appreciation for the simple things in life, being on the road has caused her to mature and develop a  business conscious. Seldon is taking her business conscious into acting.

“I have always wanted to act,” said Seldon. “Since Beyonce is currently with child, the present time is the best time!”

In her off time she likes to give back by teaching dance back home in Virginia; where she encourages her dancers to be as versatile as possible.

“Dance has so many variables, styles, and techniques, so I would say study them all,” said Seldon. “In this industry, if you have versatility under your belt, that will always put you in a better position than someone else who doesn’t. So take different classes,” she advised, “And don’t get discouraged; you never know what anyone is looking for.”

“When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breathe, then you will become successful,”  said motivational speaker ET Hip Hop Preacher.

How bad do you want to succeed?

I can’t wait to see how all Ashley’s hard work is going to blossom out. As long as she keeps working dillegently as she proclaims and continue her path to acting, somethings bound to spark in her future.

It seems like she’s on the right track to success and financial happiness. Being successful takes more than just fantasizing about stardom, you must put forth an conscious effort and stay focused as your journey unfolds.

I just hope and pray she doesn’t forget she’s a role model. (That’s the key!) Especially when there are so many young girls taking a horrible turn down the wrong path in life. Have a heart and give someone else a chance when you make it!

That way when God blesses you in your season again, he will see all the wonderful things you have done and anoint you even further. Then you will prosper even more instead of becoming self absorbed by all the glamour.

And remember always stay true to your fans and to God at all times.

    Many Blessings!
